Laparoscopic

Surgery

advanced Technology

Laparoscopic surgery is an advanced technology in general surgery. The surgeon sees and operates inside the body through a small tube. The tube is connected to a video monitor. It is a specialized and minimally invasive technique. In traditional surgery, the surgeon uses a single incision. In contrast, laparoscopic surgery uses several 0.5-1 cm incisions.

The process

At the beginning of the procedure, the body cavity is inflated with carbon dioxide gas. This provides a working and viewing space for the surgeon. Then, the laparoscope transmits images from the body cavity to the video monitors. During the operation, the surgeon watches detailed images of the body on the monitor. Surgeons can perform the same operations as traditional surgery but with smaller incisions.

With laparoscopic surgery, surgeons have a better visualization of the operation. In addition, patients often experience less pain, shorter recovery, and less scarring.
